Atrial fibrillation is the most common heart rhythm abnormality in the US, impacting nearly 1 in 10 people ages 65 and older. Although not usually life-threatening by itself, it can lead to other serious problems such as stroke. Now, a new one-time procedure for atrial fibrillation can reduce stroke risk for a lifetime for people who have a specific type of atrial fibrillation and eliminate the need for blood thinner medications. Join Dr. Maria Baldasare, Interventional Cardiologist, for a free seminar at 12 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1 at Northwest Medical Center-Bentonville to learn about the newest treatment for atrial fibrillation. This seminar is offered in a live, socially-distanced group setting, and on a virtual platform. A link and instructions for the virtual class will be provided upon registration. Lunch will be available for those attending in person. To register, call 479-757-LIFE (5433) or email CommunityRelations@NW-Health.com. Northwest Medical Center-Bentonville is located at 3000 Medical Center Parkway in Bentonville.
