Description
Where collaboration, continuing education, and community collide.
With a new focus monthly pertaining to a topic that local businesses have reached out about needing help in, participants will have the opportunity to hear and speak directly with successful small business owners, investors, and waymakers on how they can better their business. At the Greater Bentonville Area Chamber of Commerce (GBACC), we believe that our community thrives because we don't just do business with other businesses, we do it with people, whether digitally or face to face.
You’ve finally made a decision to terminate a difficult employee, now what?
It’s not always the decision to terminate that’s the challenge – how to do so in a way that doesn’t invite a hostile response can be the harder hurdle.Daily in the news, we hear of incidences of workplace violence. Based on years of experience in law enforcement, corporate security and executive protection, Doug Elms will give you pro-active ways to prevent your name being the one in the headlines and keep your people safe.
In this Small Business Hub you will learn:
- Warning signs of workplace violence
- De-escalation techniques
- Steps to take to keep your employees safe and your brand out of the headlines
Combining that experience with his law enforcement knowledge as an officer in the Little Rock Police Department, Doug made the decision in 2016 to found SafeHaven Security Group, LLC where he partners with a select group of clients providing workplace violence prevention/threat assessment and management, uniformed security specialists, and executive and family protection. His clients include bank groups, philanthropic foundations, high wealth/high risk families, churches, manufacturing facilities, corporate headquarters, event venues, and medical professionals.
